Organic Food versus Genetically Modified Food


This is the era of ultimate technological advancements. With each passing day, there is emergence taking place in every single field of life. Be it, computers, robotics, house accessories, machinery and now food even. Food is also being genetically engineered according to the needs of people of day to day. There are several advantages as well as disadvantages of using Genetically Modified Food.

Organic food is basically referred to the production of food in such a way that it grows only in the natural environment. Everything is kept natural, from food to all the processes to gain agricultural produce. No medicines or steroids are fed. Fertilizers used are all organic. There is not even a single element of artificiality.

On the other hand, whenever you are producing genetically modified food, make use of artificially altered DNA of different kind of organisms. The environment provided to them is also artificial. The food given includes different forms of steroids and yield enhancing medicines.

The main reason behind producing genetically modified organisms is to meet the demand of the growing population. The number of people in the world is growing day by day and in order to meet this very increasing demand, they need to have more yield. Yield can only be enhanced in this way by giving in the artificial environment to them for growth.


There are several disadvantages of using GMO’s (genetically modified organisms). First of all, there are so many deaths encountered due to the use of GMOs. This is mainly because when you genetically engineer the food, they are many different particles induced in the food which causes allergy to people. These days this can be improved as well by writing the allergy cautions at front of different food packages. This makes people well aware.

Moreover, there are so many cancerous elements inculcated in the food. This happens in a very uninformed way. It happens usually that people are not mindful of this fact and keep eating those products. Sometimes, there are toxins present on the outer surface. So, it is better to remove the outer of vegetables or fruits when you are eating those foods. Sometimes, these toxins are induced in the fruit or vegetable itself. This is when it becomes cancerous. It is when the food is highly dangerous for health. Instead of having positive effects on health, it will have negative effects pertaining to those foods.

In addition to this, the genetically modified organisms are high yielding. The produce gained from such organisms are in great amount. This is mainly due to the heavy amounts of pesticides and insecticides. These are very harmful to health due to several toxins and harmful particles present in there.

In the core and crust, it is not good for health to eat genetically engineered food. This is mainly because of the harmful effects on health. Although it helps to enhance the yield and being productive. But, in the end, everyone should be careful enough. Everyone should read the ingredients before buying to be aware of allergens.
