Growing up is a must seems. As much as we would like to remain, happy kids, all our lives it is impossible. Growing up also seems like heaven when you are a kid but it is not all glamour and freedom. As successful as we might be in our adulthood, we should not completely forget our past. There is a lot to be valued from our childhood.
Parents
The first thing we should remember about our childhood is our parents. Being a parent is the most difficult job in the world. They cared for us when were helpless and fragile and despite the odds, they managed to get us to adulthood. You should forever cherish all that they have done for you. It also means taking care of them when they are unable to. In old age, given them whatever they require. Ensure your relationship is strong to the very end.Another thing you should not forget is what you looked like as a kid. Many of us look very different from how we looked then. Other than the apparent change in size, changes in girth, skin tone and voice among other things show us how far we have come. This point is particularly vital for those who were teased in the past for their appearance but are now admired. Looking back, you will see how you dealt with it.
When you become successful, there will be those that will have helped you climb the ladder. Remember any person of note regardless of the time spent apart. Honor them by helping them or giving them gifts. Those individuals who helped you get to where you are the cornerstone of your success. You would be nowhere without them. It would be a shame if you never left the lines of communication open so that they can contact you whenever they can to ask for a favor or simply say hi.
Learn from the past.
Experience is the best teacher. We have memories of past experiences. Some fond and some bitter, all helpful. Every experience is a teaching aid and those lessons should be seared deep into your psyche. Do not forget them. They will be crucial in the future particularly those experiences in which you had to overcome adversity. Do not forget those experiences that were full of celebration. Remember the good times and be thankful for them, for how far you have come and the people you have had the privilege of meeting. We should also not forget the suffering we have witnessed in the past; whether our own, or of others. If you are currently aware of the continuation of human suffering from when you were a child till now, you are more likely to take action to do something that will help your fellow man. It should be something that will alleviate the suffering of mankind. You will be able to be of service to others and live a fulfilling life if you do this. Never forget what caused your suffering and see that it is non-existent in your life today.
