Wormhole can create a tunnel in the spacetime for intergalactic transportation

When scientists talk about travel to distant galaxies or planets, then they always imagine this travel with the help of a wormhole. Albert Einstein formulated the theory of wormhole along with Nathan Rosen. They used the General relativity theory to explain the existence of wormhole. According to this theory, a wormhole is a tunnel in the spacetime, and this tunnel can reduce the distance of two places in a great way, and that will minimize the time of travel as well. You can consider this similar to a tunnel that is crossing from inside a mountain so that it can reduce your distance and travel time for the faster journey.

Thanks to some science fiction movies related to space travel, now those people are also aware of the wormhole that do not have any direct connection with physics. Several movies fit in this criterion, but interstellar is possibly the most fantastic movie on this subject. This is a film in which a team of astronauts travels to distant galaxies via wormhole so they can find a new home for the human kind because the planet earth was dying slowly. This movie not only talks about the wormhole, but it talked about the theory spacetime continuum as well that says, time could be relative to people.

Although, Interstellar is a fantastic movie, but traveling through a wormhole is still not practical at this point because of various reasons. The first issues are that we need to find a wormhole that can act as a spacetime tunnel for us to our desired location. And if we trust theory suggested by Albert Einstein for same, then these tunnels could be highly unstable, and it may collapse in a very short time. Other than this, its size could be very tiny that may not be useful for use to use it as a tunnel for space travel.

However, these are just some of the opinions and chances are high that someday we will find a wormhole that is stable, big enough to act a tunnel and allows us to travel through it. Also with the help of the advanced research in physics, experts may come up with some ideas to use what we have for those things that we need. And when we will have that expertise, then maybe we will have colonies on distant planets and we will have intergalactic travel to meet our relatives during holidays.

Time Travel Theories

Time travelling is one of the most questionable topics discussed over the years. Yet nobody ever succeeded in proving this theory. Some say time travel is possible while others say it is not. there are many films made on time travel like " Star Trek", " Back To The Future" and so on. But is it possible? Well, to be honest, the answer still remains a mystery.

Time travel simply means to travel back and forth in time. It is said that time travel is only possible if one succeeds to achieve the speed of light. It is also said that during time travel, time passes very slowly. Many scientists have put forward their theories about time travelling, while, the most effective one was put forward by the great physicist Albert Einstein.

Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein was a famous physicist and mathematician who lived in the 20th century. His works changed the way mankind look at the universe. He contributed the groundbreaking idea of time travel, that is, the theory of relativity. This theory simply explains the relationship between time and space. The first theory, the special theory of relativity, is all about what is absolute and what is relative. After a decade, Einstein moved from the special theory of relativity to the general theory of relativity. This theory explains how gravity can bend time. According to these theories, travelling at the speed of light makes everything slow and almost still but travelling at a speed more than that of the speed of light can reverse time. Both these theories have been proven theoretically and have been found very accurate.

Wormhole

We have all heard about wormholes once in our life. Wormholes are another way of time travel and were derived from Einstein's theory of relativity. With the help of these, one can travel backwards and forwards through time. Well, wormholes' existence is yet to be proved. Talking scientifically, wormholes connect two points in the space and create a tunnel between them. This enables object entering one side of the tunnel to instantly reach the other side of the tunnel.

Apart from Einstein, there are other people who also proposed some theories about time travel. Astronomer Frank Tipler was one of them. He proposed a mechanism that would actually work for astronomers or space travelers. In this mechanism, one should take matter which is 10 times the mass of the sun and then roll it into a long cylinder and set it to spin for a few billion revolutions per minute. After the revolutions, anything that follows an exact spiral around the cylinder could get itself end up on a closed, time-like curve. But this method too has many shortcomings.

Apart from the above discussed there are some more ways of time travelling, like the black holes, cosmic strings and yes, of course, the time machines. Well if time travelling is possible, it it still safe? Well, it is not necessary that one can survive it. The economy of the world can be disturbed as energy and mass are moved from one dimension to the other. Compared to the advantages of time travel, disadvantages weigh more. But if one is willing to take the risk and play it safe, much can be achieved.
